Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une pr\u00e9paration utilis\u00e9e, entre autres par les am\u00e9rindiens mais aussi en Russie par diff\u00e9rentes peuples du Nord. Il s&rsquo;agit de viande s\u00e9ch\u00e9e m\u00e9lang\u00e9e \u00e0 de la graisse fondue. Pr\u00e9paration \u00e0 laquelle on ajoute des fruits secs suivant son go\u00fbt ou ce que l&rsquo;on a sous la main. L&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat de cette pr\u00e9paration ? Le pemmican peut se conserver plusieurs mois. De plus, sous une forme relativement compact, cela permet de transporter des rations de nourriture tr\u00e8s \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques.
